I received this book from Readers First and like so many books I have been sent, I really liked this book!! The copy I received was a very large paperback with a gorgeous bright pink cover that looks great on the bookshelf (always a bonus!!)
On to the read - I couldn’t help but love the main character Effie, despite being a negative Nelly and having a dark cloud above her at time’s, she held my heart throughout the book. Her relationship with Theo was quite explosive at time’s (however my love for Theo is THERE! What a sweetheart) so I was routing for that happy ending.
Funny but sad at time’s, this was a very well written book that made me laugh out loud at some of the real life issues the author touched on.
I did give the book a 4/5 stars which is still a very good review, I just felt there was a very big build up to a plot twist that was then a bit of an anti climax that I feel could have been incorporated more into the story line.
A very enjoyable book overall I will look out for more books from this author in the future
