When I was given the chance to read and review this novel , I did presume it was going to follow the normal / standard type of romance novel - i.e....girl meets boy and they fall in love after overcoming a few obstacles ect. However, I was very pleasantly surprised as this story was so much more than that, and it was a delightful read.
The story follows Effie's personal journey from being an unpleasant, not well liked and quite spikey character as she slowly tries to become a person who learns how to love herself, and how to live her life without holding grudges against every one else and being angry with the world. The story also follows her friendship and developing romance with Theo who is hiding a big secret.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read, old and young alike. I have awarded this book the maximum5 stars.
