The cover is a bit bleak, which works for the subject. The style of the writing didn't grip me, i just couldn't get into the story. It had a feel more like a journal, this thing happened, then that reminded me of this thing in the past, now the next thing. The extract didn't leave me wanting to find out what happened next, i'd probably have put this back on the shelf.
