I'm not sure how I felt about this. A lot of time was spent on building up the characters back story. I did like how different members of the family were in different places so the chapters jumped between them. I also liked the idea of the story I just found it very anti-climactic. It did take me some time to get through this book considering it is quite a short one. The idea is a a womans son gets brainwashed into killing a load of random innocent people thinking that it is for the best of humanity. That there are too many people in the world and its a natural culling as such. The family isn't overly close. Her and her husband are distant, her kids don't really want to know. The first 3/4 is the back story of how they all got to where they are now and I found that not enough time was spent on the main point.
