I would actually give this book at 3.5 stars! I love UKYA and any chance to support the UKYA market, I’m all for it! I also tend to enjoy YA books that are set in the UK more than those set in the US because the dialogue is always more natural to me and doesn’t seem as cringe! This was definitely the case with this book too - the dialogue sounded real and actually like real 16 year old British teens.
Although it’s a YA book and the main character had just finished her GCSEs, it definitely felt like it was a book aimed towards the younger side of YA readers - so those who are 14/15 as opposed to 17/18! It was enjoyable and lighthearted and if read this when I was younger, I would have loved this book!
